I had no idea that the new "Grand Manitou" of the popular show La Voix was a fan of my work... I received a phone call, Jean-François and his wife came to meet me at my studio. It was just after my paintings appeared on the giant screens during the St-Jean-Baptiste show which paid tribute to the great painters of Quebec this year on the Plains.
After the introductions, JF spontaneously said to me: Welcome to La Voix!
Me: OMG?! I've always dreamed of being able to sing!
Each portrait is 100% handmade and measures 8x8 feet.
I had the privilege of being given carte blanche. I was trusted 110% and I was given the gift of painting giant works. A true technical challenge... and an artistic one! I drew inspiration from the artists individually and from their latest albums, videos, and interviews to create works in their image under my signature.
